Steps to Renting a boat for use on Pine Lake, Plainwell, Michigan
Check the availability calendar.
Review the Liability Waiver, you will be required to sign a copy when you pick up the boat. Email your reservation or call it in.
Call in your credit card or mail in a check for your deposit.
When you arrive we will charge you the full rental amount. When you return we will top off the gas, subtract it from your deposit and refund the difference.
Notes about our rentals.
1/2 day rentals are from 8 am to 2 pm or from 2:30 pm until 7 am the next morning. This evening extension cannot be done with the jetskii, due to laws.
Over 6 hours is considered a full day rental and you may keep the boat up to 24 hours.
The boat described is the boat you will be renting when you make your reservation unless, mechanical failures, or the boat is replaced with a boat that is superior in condition, or features.
Some boats have built in furniture, many have lawn chair type furniture of decent quality. We stock life jackets to match the rental party. All boats are equipped with at least one anchor. If you will be fishing and feel you need a second, let us know when you rent or reserve the boat.
If you do not like the boat after you have seen it, we may be able to offer you alternatives when you arrive for no extra charge. We will show you other availible boats at the dock, so you can inspect it fully.
Boats come with Swim Ladders. If you will not be using it, let us know and we will not put it on the boat. Swim ladders are "tethered" to the boat to prevent them from being lost. If you remove the tether and lose the ladder, there will be a $150 charge.
Deposits are due at time of reservation. Your full rent will be charged at arrival. We will deduct gas purchases from your deposit over your rental period.
At completion of your rent, we will inspect the boat, top off the gas and refund the difference.
Deposit refunds will be at our discretion if you reserve a boat and do not show up. A good rule of thumb is, the busier the day is going to be, the more likely we are to retain your deposit, for example, we won't if you do not show up and it is raining, but we will if you rent during the third of July and do not show up.
We mostly view deposits as gas-up front, with the difference refunded as above, instead of building it into the rental price. If there is boat damage, and we determine that it is not accidental, we reserve the right to hold your deposit. In two years we have only retained one deposit for "boat damage."
Boaters must comply with all state laws and lake laws while using our boats. If we confirm that a renter is not complying with state and local laws, we reserve the right to terminate the rental agreement and pick up the boat.
At Pine Lake Boat, we enjoy renting boats and jet skis. We get to see a fresh appreciation for Pine Lake on a daily basis through the eyes of others. To us it is a very special place with lots of special people. Please respect the lake and community and we will do everything we can to make sure it is an experience you will remember!
